Summer is already here. And our beautiful island offers countless choices for the visitors.

From unique and hidden beaches with crystal-clear waters to enormous sandy beaches, Corfu has an option for everyone.

In this article, we offer our recommendation of our favorite beaches located in the North part of the island of Corfu.

Almyros Beach

Almyros beach is located in the North part of Corfu, next to Acharavi. The beach is covered in golden sand and is ideal for families with children.

Here you can enjoy crystal-clear waters and tranquility, as the beach is usually not over-crowded.

Almyros is an organized beach and you can find sunbeds, umbrellas, cafes and taverns to enjoy your coffee/drink and traditional Greek and Corfiot cuisine next to the beach.

Rovinia beach

Rovinia beach is a beautiful small beach located in the north-east side of Corfu, very close to Palaiokastritsa.

Rovinia is considered mainly by the visitors, but also by many locals, the most beautiful beach in Corfu. And the reason is that it is one of the hidden beaches of the island, meaning that it is not over-crowded.

The natural beauty that this beach offers, with the blue and green crystal clear waters, the small pebbles covering the beach and the amazing landscape all around the beach, offers a unique experience to the visitors who will explore Rovinia.

Rovinia is accessible from the sea with boats and also from the land, where visitors have to follow a path for about 550 meters to reach the beach.

Palaiokastritsa

One of the most famous – if not the most famous one – and most beautiful beaches Corfu has is located in Palaiokastritsa.

If you are looking for blue and green crystal clear waters, amazing scenery, combination of the ocean and hills, look no further. Palaiokastritsa has it all.

Palaiokastritsa has one of the coldest and deepest seas in the whole island, but that cannot stop you from visiting. The beach is not big in length and hosts lots of travelers and swimmers daily. It is a rather busy beach, with lots of tourist shops, coffee shops, bars and taverns all around Palaiokastritsa.

There is also a monastery which is located at the top of a hill and gives a great panoramic view around the various little bays and inlets. On your way to the monastery, about half the way, there is a spot which is a must photographic spot, as it gives a panoramic view of the main beach. (The main photo of Palaiokastritsa in this article is taken from that spot.)

There are also numerous caves all around the hills of Palaiokastritsa, that you can explore by swimming for the ones that are visible from the land and there are also others that you have to rent a boat or a kayak to explore them.

Agios Georgios, Pagoi

The beach of Agios Georgios in the Area of Pagoi is one of the biggest beaches you can find in Corfu. The beach is covered in golden sand throughout its lenght and it is recommended for families.

As in every organized beach, you can find sunbeds, umbrella, many coffee shops, bars, taverns and local tourists shops for souvenirs.

At the northern end at the top of the hill there is the village of Afionas, with stunning sunset views and some excellent taverns, the road to the village is extremely uphill. (The photo of Agios Georgios in this article is taken from Afionas.)
